AQUARIUM TRIP TO MONTEREY

My daughter invited me to come along as second adult on a home school project. The tickets were free to groups of home schools that are scheduled different days.
My daughter has been home schooling since my grand-son was in the first grade.
Her husband is in the military and has to relocate often. This allows the children to have a consistent education without changing schools.

Here we are heading up the hill from the parking lot the 3 blocks to the Aquarium. Parking is a little spendy. If you find a place on the street to park they are metered parking spaces. At least the maximum you can pay is $18. We got out of there for around $7 for almost four hours.

Here we are coming into the Aquarium.

The kids are looking over the map of the Aquarium. Noticed the replicas of whales, dolphins, etc. above their heads.

The aquariums of sea creatures were incredible to see. The kids were so excited they just wanted to go from place to place.

When we got to some of the large tanks it would spell bound the kids and me too.
unfortunately I left my glasses in the car and I could not find the aquarium setting that would have made these pictures so much clearer.

They had some work shops set up for the kids. In the picture above the kids are making a turtle.

The kids were allowed to touch different see creatures like star fish, crabs, etc.

This was the whale that you saw in the picture above. This is upstairs looking right at the head of it.

Here are the kids upstairs in front of one of the other whales.

After the aquarium we went to supper on the fishermans wharf. We had clam chowder bowls and a yummy plate of sauted vegetables in a garlic butter sauce. The kids of course had kid meals that were the size of adult meals. All of us ladies were given a yellow rose bud flower. We then walked to the end of the wharf.
IT WOULD BE WORTH EVERY PENNY TO PAY FOR VISITING THIS AQUARIUM.  If you get a chance go visit the Monterey Aquarium.

We spent the night and went to the ocean the next day. We took the scenic route along the ocean. Here I am with daughter #2's grand-children.

Here they are climbing down to a little section of beach. We found a bigger one later to walk on. THE OCEAN WAS JUST BEAUTIFUL! We also got to see several surfers riding the waves.
